Tijuana here we come!

I have never blogged before but I have been reading alot about everyone on here so I decided to tell my story since its similar to many.

My name is Adriana I am 28 years old and I live in Aurora, IL. I grew up here so this is the only place I know as home. I met my husband Marcelino December 2003 it was love at first sight and we were married April 2004. We immediately started his paperwork to get him legal in the US but we kept putting it off for several reasons: no money, hubby had few issues with police, hubby wasn't ready to go back, etc. He had a good job here was laid off in 2007 and from then on our lives turned upside down. He couldn't find work and I was only working but that wasn't enough to pay bills. He finally found work but it was only seasonal since we live in Illinois the snow and cold do not help.

Finally in July 2010 we received notice of his appointment in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico for his visa interview. He was finally ready to go back and see his family after nearly 10 years of being in the US. We started on journey on July 26,2010 and drove all the way to Michoacan, Mexico. We made it safely and hubby was finally reunited with his family.
He had his visa interview scheduled in Ciudad Juarez on August 5th, 2010. We made the long 26 hour bus trip to Ciudad Juarez where hubby was given a ban of 1 year before he could apply for his visa.

So that day we made a decision that we would be apart for one year and then see what happens. I had a good job and all my family in Illinois to come back to. Hubby would stay with his parents in Michoacan.

Well his 1 year ban is now up and we have to schedule a new interview in Ciudad Juarez and then hopefully he will be eligible for a waiver. I have consulted with several lawyers and have been told the same thing since hubby had police issues in US his case is more difficult and it could take up to another year if we continue with process.
So we had to make a decision did we want to be apart for another year or should I move to Mexico with hubby. I did not want to move to hubby's hometown there is not much to do in his town. I wouldn't be able to find work and neither would he. So we made the decision that we would move to a border town where I am able to work in the US and live with him in Mexico. We decided on Tijuana since I have family in California I would be close to them.
I made the trip to Tijuana 3 weeks ago to take a look around and I went job hunting in San Diego so maybe I would have something lined up before we move. I was lucky to find a very nice apartment in Tijuana and I went on some interviews and dropped off my resume at places in San Diego. I know it will be hard to adjust to this lifestyle since I will be crossing the border everyday. But I look at it as an adventure for both of us and we will finally be together after being a year apart.

We don't have any children yet we always said we would wait until he was legal to start a family. That has been to long so we will have to start soon. I start this new journey in my life in 4 days. I leave September 28,2011 to be with hubby and in-laws for a week in Michoacan and then hubby and I fly out to Tijuana on October 4,2011.

I recently received a phone call from an office I applied for and I have a working interview the day after I get to Tijuana. So I am excited and hopefully all goes well and I get a job. Then all I have to worry about is hubby finding a job.
